Jos van den Broek (VNA): “Road safety is an important priority in an increasingly complex mobility system”
Jos van den Broek is a manager at the Association of Dutch Car Leasing Companies (VNA) and one of the eight members of the ADAS Core Team. He lives and breathes (auto)mobility and works passionately on behalf of the leasing sector on policy issues related to sustainability, taxation, and road safety. He believes that mobility is everyone's responsibility, and therefore it must be sustainable, smart, safe, accessible, and affordable for everyone.
Within the VNA, Van den Broek, along with colleagues and VNA members, is committed to strong representation of the leasing industry. Close contact with politicians and government is essential in this regard. "Road safety will always be a priority for VNA," he says. "Traffic is becoming increasingly complex and challenging. The ADAS Alliance is a valuable partnership to promote and improve the safe use of driver assistance systems. VNA, and thus the car leasing sector, is eager to contribute to the next step towards automated systems."
The VNA has represented the majority of the Dutch car leasing market since 1983. Leasing companies are key players in the Dutch automotive market: together they manage over 1.3 million cars, accounting for 15% of the total fleet and more than half of all new registrations. Due to its significant share in the deployment of new cars, the sector has a significant influence on sustainability and road safety. "The car leasing sector is the catalyst for making the Dutch vehicle fleet more sustainable and plays a key role in providing access to sustainable and safe mobility," says Van den Broek. He sees a clear opportunity here: leveraging the power of the leasing sector to make the Netherlands safer and smarter.
